Soundtrack and Soundtrack

We have created an idea for our soundtrack. With a larger influence from the video/computer game "The Sims", we quite like the idea of a mellow piano riff to be played over our media text when introducing our character and his settings.
Here is a sneak preview of what we would like to create.

Location

We have a few location ideas to film our short film, as we have one place that we want to film at which would be the White Hart pub in Newmarket, as one member of the group works there, so it may be easy to ask to film there and as they have an industrial kitchen it would be the best option.

If the White Hart location is not a possibility then the other options we have would be:
- Bedford Lodge Kitchen
- Long Road Kitchen
These locations are our back-ups if the White Hart hart idea does not work, as we have asked the Long Road Kitchen to use and they have said we can use the kitchen if the White Hart Location fails and then for Bedford Lodge another member of our group works there.

Idea's Developed

So we have decided fully on our final idea. Our media text will consist of our main character introducing his work place and his colleges and how he believes he is the best in his work place, the idea that he is a jobsworth.

The piece will be set in a work environment preferably in a kitchen as it has a broader storyline to it. The character in the piece will complete different tasks which will comically go wrong, an example of this is maybe he will be cutting up some vegetables and accidentally chop of his hand or fingers and will then follow his jobsworth role and believe he has to continue on. Ideas like this will continue through out.

Ideas Process

Our original idea was to create a dream relapse. The idea that somebody wakes up in an unknown place and the the rest of the production tells the story of how he ended up in this unknown area. However we have discussed this idea and thought it would be irrelevant as producing a 4 minute clip would involve a large amount of work on castings and set design etc...

We decided to scratch this idea and to develop an idea based around a comical theme. After looking at examples from Youtube such as "Forklift Training Video" and "Office Quarterback" we decided to create an idea focused around a comical documentary theme.




We have decided to use these as idea's and develop our new idea around these types of video's, and trying to create a 4 minute short film. We really liked the idea of a comical training video or a video based around a magical item.
